Helping small businesses to prototype business plans during and after COVID-19.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced Italy to a long-lasting lockdown that caught many small businesses unprepared. Many businesses in particular weren’t delivery-ready or online-ready. We thought it would be useful if businesses were put in the condition of easily sharing and renting assets to each other.
How might we promote a sharing and giving collaborative mindset for local businesses even after COVID-19?
💡 Solution
Weshare is a B2B sharing marketplace that allows the sharing of assets and materials in order to overcome immediate difficulties and test new business models without large investments, by renting and sharing assets with other small businesses. The project requires the adoption of a sharing economy mindset. We wanted to make sure that Weshare didn’t become another eBay, therefore the platform requires renters to also give availability for something to share.
📋 Outcome
The project was welcomed by the committee and it was made available for funding as a COVID-19 emergency project. Designing for this project was a challenge because we had a very short time and a remote schedule. The biggest challenge for this concept would be to correctly define the renting fees so that they might have an appeal for both parties.
My Role
I led the team by defining goals, objectives, and tasks day by day. This project was done in just 5 days on a very tight schedule so it was fundamental that all the team members were on the same page. I also helped define the service offering and journey map. I designed the UI of the app.
This is how the Weshare system flows. Can you see the opportunity we created?
